General Questions

  1. Are you open?

We are open for hire, sales and service everyday of the year except Christmas Day, and occasions when our site partners must close the entire site due to bad weather (usually strong winds or snow).  Please check our website and individual Facebook pages for specific seasonal opening times, and for posts in periods of bad weather regarding closures.

  1. What are your opening times?

Generally all CC’s are open between 9:30 and 5pm everyday.  HOWEVER please check individual site FaceBook pages for seasonal adjustments to these times:

  1. Are the bike trails open?

All the on site bike trails are managed by our site partners.  While we try to report any issues through our social media, specific information can be found at:

Questions About Booking Hire

  1. Can I book/reserve bikes online?

Yes, please visit www.bookings.groundscyclecentres.uk .

  1. I want to book online today but the booking system won’t let me.

If you are trying to book a bike for a time which is LESS than 4 hours ahead, you will not be able to do so. The minimum booking period is 2 hours, so you will therefore be unable to book bikes for after 3pm.  Please contact individual sites by phone/text message or WhatsApp if you wish to book bike hire on the day.  Site numbers are on our website and individual Facebook pages.

  1. The booking system says you have no availability/bikes are out of stock?

Advance bookings may well be fully booked but we retain a percentage of bikes for walk in hires. Please contact individual sites by phone/text message or WhatsApp if you wish to book bike hire on the day.  Site numbers are on our website and individual Facebook pages.

  1. Can I attach tagalongs/child seats/ trailers to my own bike?

No, this is not possible.  Attachments can only be used with our bikes, and this is a condition of our operator’s insurance.

  1. What age/size must my child be for tagalongs/child seats/ trailers?

Tagalongs – your child must simply be able to safely sit on the seat, place feet on the pedals and reach forward to hold onto the bars.

Child Seats – Maxmium weight limit of 22kg.  If your child is tall for their age they may also find the straps do not comfortably fit over their shoulders.

Buggy – maximum combined weight of 36kg, and maximum height is 104cm.

  1. I have booked the wrong location by accident. What should I do?

Yes, these are included without charge.

  1. Can you repair punctures / adjust gears / fix brakes / replace headsets? How much would this be?

  1. If I book my bike in for service, how long will it take/ do you do repairs while I wait?

Wherever possible we will assess your bike at drop off(depending on workshop workload), this will offer an indication of the work required but we are unable to offer guarantees of workshop turn around time. We will however communicate with you about any delays or extra work required.

  1. Can you collect bikes for service work?

This depends on location. Please call or message the specific site closest to you, using the numbers provided.
